US Marine Corps
My family moved from Chile in 1975 when I was very young to Phoenix, AZ. After high school I was determined to serve our country and was able to achieve that goal by earning the title, United States Marine. After graduating the School of Infantry, I was assigned to be an Infantry Anti-Armor Assultman where I completed the required training to become a Dragon Gunner/Demolitions Man first serving with 2nd Battalion 9th Marines and later with 2nd Battalion 4th Marines. While serving in 2/4 I was attached to a Force Recon platoon in Okinawa, Japan to a trailer platoon were we helped with their dynamic job in Close Quarters Battle (CQB).
In 1996 I went to 2nd Battalion 5th Marines and I was promoted to E4 and assumed more intensive leadership roles. I was a squad leader and at times I was also acting Platoon Sergeant before ending my active duty enlistment.
After my time in the Marine Corps I worked for a major airline as a dedicated employee for 15 years. In that career my schedule permitted me to volunteer at my church, participating in a lot of community service to include feeding the homeless and home building projects. This allowed me to follow my Christian faith while being a single father and now I am looking to support the veteran community.
